Prospero maps The Hive Co-Farm!

Back in May this year, our team went to visit The Hive Co-Farm located in Yuen Long to discuss how we could use our drones to obtain aerial data and provide much-needed information regarding the size of their land plots.

Much like the co-working space you will find in the city, this Co-Farm is where start-ups and SME’s can run and test out their hydroponics, aquaponics and agri-tech ideas.

After securing CAD approval, we returned to the Co-Farm and successfully mapped the 2-hectare site and processed the data to obtain surface area measurements of the various plots of land present.

BSI Issues BS 9122 Draft for Public Comment

On 12th June 2018, The British Standards Institution (BSI) published BS 9122, a draft document  calling for public comment regarding a new standard of competence for drone users.  This new standard is voluntary and does not replace the current Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) legislation but what it does aim to achieve is to help organisations, who employ drone pilots, to set higher standards for their employees and for drone pilots themselves to have a standard to measure up against.  This is being done with the hope of improving standards across the ever-growing UK drone industry. With the drone service industry picking up pace, this is certainly a step in the right direction for the UK.

We’ll be following this closely.
